Hucknall House of Pain Wrestling - Friday 6th March 2024
Here is the new blog for Hucknall, which I hope has a little bit in it for everyone, before we start with the write up of the bouts, we take a interview with House of Pain Fans Emma and her family, nanna, Kristina, Kelsey and Louii. They travel from the Heanor area each month. So please enjoy the question and answers from me to Emma.
Q. How long have you been interested in Wrestling and who was your favourite wrestler(s) then?
A. I dont wish to give my age away, Emma replies as she is 21, but some 30 plus years ago I loved Hulk Hogan and Ultimate Warrior.
Q. How did you first hear about the House Of Pain and which venue did you first attend?
A. It was a charity event some eight years ago at Heanor Leisure Centre, we enjoyed it so much we began coming to the events.
Q. When did you first begin coming to the Hucknall Events?
A. It must be about 5 years ago now.
Q. What brings you all the way from Heanor to Hucknall every month?
A. It is the nearest venue to where we live and also it is always great entertainment for a Friday family evening out.
Q. Who is your favourite House of Pain Wrestler?
A. In the past it was DDA and Gwiss, but presently it is the fans favourite Davey Thompson.
Q. What is your favourite House of Pain bout at Hucknall you have ever seen?
A. Wow you have put me on the spot there, there have been too many too mention

Ok on to the nights bouts
Bout One was a Tag Team Match between Text Book & Sash v Mickey Mclovin &Davey Thompson
Krimson(textbook) took to the ring and took the mic amongst a sell out crowd who was giving the chants of "Boring" ringing around the ring, his partner Sash took the mic off him and the crowd got loader with shouts of "Sash is Trash" he told the crowd to shut up, this seemed to make the crowd shout even louder to his annoyance.
The music of "Fight for your right" blared out and the crowd were delighted to see Mickey Mclovin enter through the curtains, he was soon followed by the Hucknallites favourite Davey Thompson to a mass of welcome from them.
Mickey began the bout and looked on top,but a mistake let in Textbook, but as he was showboating to the crowd, Davey was tagged in and took control, but as Davey was on the top rope, Sash distracted the ref for Thompson to be pushed on to the ring for the heels to take advantage. Davey managed to tap out of 2 two counts before getting the tag to McLovin, who then squashed Sash in to corner and then as both opponents were in the ring, struck both the opponents down. Davey was tagged back in but with the wild ctowd shouting finish him, a slip up saw Krimson manage to get a roll up for a victory.
BOUT TWO was a singles match, the return of Kid Rothrock v Will Roberts
Kid returns to Hucknall, then the Black Sheep enter to boos. The bell rang and the crowd begin to clap Kid. Soon he was in rytham with two body slams but after going out of the ring, the baddie took advantage and had three counts of two to win the bout, then just as Kid thought he had won the bout on the count of two, outside interferance put Roberts foot on the rope to save him. Kid wasnt happy and was then slammed in to Referee Neil, then his opponent snatched the win. Kid then approached Neil and barged in to him knocking him to the floor, as he left the ring, the Black sheep re-entered and Johnny Sharp ordered Jaden Law to leave the ring saying he was not part of the Black Sheep, Law went back stage to boos to Sharpe.
BOUT THREE was a singles match with Johnny Sharpe v Disco Dan
The referee ordered everyone from ringside to leave just the two wrestlers in the ring, as Raynor left, the crowd were in fine singing voice of "Na na na na hey hey goodbye. He didnt looked too pleased.
The bell rang and the children started up singing to Johnny Sharpe "Old McDonald had a farm" to which he told everyone to shut up, as you can imagine, then everyone join in the singalong. Dan got Sharpe in a spin and spun him round six times before Sharpe scratched him in the eyes. Sharpe then was in control of the bout for around three minutes, but then Disco stepped up his game, but Sharpe was just getting back in the bout, when Jaden Law appeared at ringside and Sharpe jumped out the ring to argue with him whilst the referee counted him out.
Kid Rothrock then came back out to the ring and apologised to the crowd for his loss of control and asked for referee Neil to come out and get in to the ring, Kid then publicily apologised to Neil and he said it would never happen again and they hugged it out.
After the Interval:
BOUT FOUR was a singles match between Rayner v Raveboy
Of late there has been a few cracks showing between Raveboy and Disco Dan, they both came out together and Rayner came out with support from the Black Sheep, but the ref sent the outsiders back behind the curtains.
Raveboy began quickly in to his stride until going out of the ring, where Rayner began to bang his opponents head several times on the apron, as they re-entered the ring, Rayner gave Raveboy a few slams and a chokeslam and he was taking a lot of punishment, but Raveboy seemed to find a second wind as both wrestlers went down for a count of six. At this stage out through the curtain came Johnny Sharpe, but Disco Dan followed him and they began a brawl outside the ring, Raveboy turned his back to see what was going on and when he turned back round, Rayner hit Rave with a full onspear to gain the win. When Raveboy got up, he shouted at Disco Dan you have cost me another match, Dan tried to patch it up, but Raveboy left him alone in the ring, is that crack widened or can they sort out their disagreements?
BOUT FIVE: This was a SIX Man Tag Team Match
The teams were: Nile Hyde(Mr Number 1), Lance Flashman, and a change of opponent Jaden Law v AJ, TJ Dean and Zak Roberts
First person to enter the ring was Nile Hyde who always looks like he is off to go swimming, but soon the chants rang out to number two before he could speak. Next was Johnny Sharpe who ordered Jadan Law to come out to the ring, he called him a dirty little rat who had cost him his bout and said he must win this bout or else. Lance then came out before the opponents came out. As the bell rang, Jaden shouted to the crowd, if you would like to see me wrestle give me a BAA, the crowd responded positively. Quick tags saw the favourites make the better start, but Nile pulled Roberts hair for his team to take over. Lance entered the ring and straight away hit TJ a few times in the kidney area and then tried to start the USA chants, but Hucknall were having none of it. Law was then caught in midair and slammed by AJ then squashed in the corner, but he managed to get to his corner to make the tag to Flashman,where the two giants dualled in the ring, a quick tags for both teams saw TJ and Roberts take out Hind and Roberts completed the 3 count for the win.
BOUT SIX was the HOP HERITAGE TITLE between Nate Colt(Champ) v Joseph Starr
Textbook came out with Starr, whilst Colt came out with Davey Thompson's younger brother, As the bout commences the crowd are singing "Nate is Great", this bout is split in to rounds. At the end of a very tight round one, Starr attacks Colt as he returns to his corner and gets a public warning, but Colt then goes and attacks Starr, so its1-1 on public warnings.
Round Two starts and Nate is fired up and gets the first fall to go 1-0 up in the best of 3. In to Round Three and Starr looks more aggressive and has a sleeper hold on Colt hoping he will tap out, Colt fights out but Starr slams him in to the cornerpost and rolls him up to make it 1-1.
In to Round Four and Nate's back looks red and he is looking tired whilst Starr looks more comfortable with the pace of the bout and it looks likely the championship could well change hands, but just as the round is about to end, Starr is saved by the bell as Nate delivers eat the feet on Starr.
Round Five sees both wrestlers going for it, with both matching each other with slaps to the chest, then Nate is pushed in to Neil the referee who goes down and away from the action,where Textbook throws the championship belt to Starr where Nate who turns round and Starr drops the belt.Neil recovers to his feet and Nate slams Starr to retain his title.
Nate then said he had a bit of respect for Starr and repected he didnt take the championship belt the easy way by using it and would give him another title opportunity any time. Nate put his hand out, but Starr refused to shake it as he walked off.
The last Question for Emma was:
Q. What was your favourite bout of the evening:
A: Main event as she isnt a big fan of Joesph Starr and was delighted that Nate retained.

Q. How long have you been interested in wrestling?
A. About 25 years but I played other sports like Rugby
Q. What made you think Im going o be a Wrestler and did someone influence you?
A. I just liked the experiance in sport
Q. How did you hear of the House of Pain?
A. I saw a poster with DDA in it, but a old school friend Jack Caster really introduced me.
Q. How long have you been with House of Pain?
A. I began training in 2017-18
Q. What is your favourite move in Wrestling?
A. Mine is the Alabama Slam, but it does half hurt
Q. Who is your favourite House of Pain Wrestler?
A. Franco Fate
Q. What House of Pain Championships have you held?
A. I have held the House of Pain Heavyweight Championship twice and if Grayson still holds it when Im back from injury then I will be going after him.
Q. What would you say is the best House of Pain bout you have ever been involved in?
A. 10th December 2022 v Danny Chase.
Q. Where, Who and when was your first House of Pain match?
15th December 2018 at St Anns v Fenix
Q. What is your House of Pain ambition for 2024?
A. Im aiming to be back in the ring for October and to stay injury free
Q. Favourite Food?
A. McDonalds Plant Meal
Q. Favourite Drink?
A. Any low calorie
